You might not eat as well.
I've only been home for thanksgiving once since I started college, and I have lived throught it so far.

Actually, that's my least worry -- the past two years, I've been responsible for the majority of the Thanksgiving cooking, so regarding things like Turkey+Gravy+Stuffing, or seasonal pies, I'm fine. My parents wouldn't be badly off regarding food -- Thanksgiving is in Boston this year, which means it's probably as cooked by my foodie uncle. Assuming I work up the ambition to execute on them, food isn't the worry.

I always go home for thanksgiving. I don't like the idea of being anywhere else. This year my parents want to do thanksgiving at our hiltonhead house, but screw that. My brother and I are going home, and my parents are going down there. That probably means no turkey...

Take yourself out to a nice Thanksgiving buffet and charge it to your parents ;) It's at least as good as eating at home, only you don't get leftovers but you do get more varieties of dessert.

Heh. I just assumed you weren't going to VT for Thanksgiving, since you'd be travelling later.
We sometimes do a potluck vegetarian Thanksgiving celebration with some people, and you're welcome to join us. We haven't really made any plans yet this year, so I suppose we could open it up to a non-veggie menu if enough turkey-eaters are interested.
