Woke up this morning to an instant message from vermonster (via gracejs). Apparently she and my mom are in DC this weekend to rally. It sounds like it is going well.

I think Kerry is doing the right thing, ignoring the Vatican. Rallies like this should be helpful for him as a contrast to Bush. But I'm also glad to see that he's not at the rally itself. Hillary -- in DC anyway, and powerful female politician -- is enough.

Well,

Kerry isn't really ignoring the Vatican, he's ignoring one guy at the Vatican (Cardinal Arinze). So are Tom Ridge and Rudy Giuliani so far as I know. But agreed, he's doing the right thing.

Sure wish the Vatican would get this worked up about the death penalty, or the war in Iraq for that matter.

the march was AWESOME. and being in DC with catey, saneeyyah and mom was even awesomer. as far as politicians at the march--there were TONS. hillary, madeline albright, house minority leader (is it bad that i forgot her name??), howard dean (oh yes, i was about 20 feet away from him at one point... VT represent), and lots of kerry's family. people were cheering for kerry and they were handing out kerry stickers (i wore one with pride... MA represent).

the thing that pissed me off was how the media reported it. there were over a million people there (official counts) yet there were reports as low as 300,000. bull. and bush responded by talking about abstinence education. i hate that man.
