11:40 am - Memeage is the Message
Following the interesting results this has had on others' journals, I'll follow the meme. I've enabled anonymous posting, even.

This is the problem with LJ, we all think we are so close, and we know nothing about each other. I'm going to rectify it. I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.

Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

There are two ways to answer it. Three, with the third being "I don't know".

I could give a logical answer: color of royalty, long tradition of being influential in the chemical dye process, somewhat distinct, etc. Those would most likely be rationalizations along the lines of why I studied chemistry.

The other answer would be -- because it sends off happy vibes. Why do you like jellyfish or the thing they stand for? Same sort of logic, I feel comfortable surrounded in purple.

Really, it is because it is one of the few things I actually have a preference for, so I overplay it.

My question for you: Why is this a problem?

That was the language of the meme. Indeed, I do not consider it a problem -- there are several significant things in my life that I deliberately have kept from livejournal (to the extent of even changing some of my descriptions of activities). Various people who read my journal know what some these things (and people) are.

Do you wish everyone else was smarter?
