Three years ago, I had just bought a car. And used it to spend days looking at apartments, not finding anything I was particularly happy with. I had finally settled on renting an apartment in a high rise in Highland Park. Called my parents, told them that's what I'm gonna do. Stopped by roboclub on my way over, looked at Misc.Market -- and was dialing the phone number on a post before I knew what I was doing. I basically never call in response to ads. The person who answered was on her way to a vacation, but the landlords were in town working on the apartment, so I was told to just go out and meet them. I went, I saw, I wrote a check on the spot and was given a key. I posted a cryptic entry. And three years later, I am packing up to move out.
Fortunately, those days of posting without saying much are behind me.
