Although it is not like I actually work. Or, perhaps more accurately (or generously), it is not like I have to work in my office.

Hell, it's not like Seth does :-) Just about all the times I ever saw him in his office he was meeting with someone, on the phone, or playing solitaire.

Though you could probably also bring a dog to work. This one grad student who had and office across from mine (now yours) was always bringing this huge dog in with her.

Well, apparently it is a very burst based workmode. That is to say, when papers where due, he was there later than everyone else. Before he left for his latest trip (ie, tuesday) he was in a 6hrs/3day binge. All of these are fine. It just means that when it isn't critical, being "in office" isn't critical.

and yes, it is unclear what the pet policy of wean is, but i've seen a number of large dogs.

i should qualify that: it is unclear where the equilibrium between "as practiced" and "as preached" is.

Indeed.

I would say that as long as your dog doesn't bother anyone, no one will ask any questions.

Yeah, I should have added, that I almost never stayed later 6pm, so it is very possible he worked after I left.

In any event, Seth probably would have no problems with you working from home unless there is a "situation". It just wasn't an option for me since I was living out of a suitcase.
