12:16 am - I wanna be sedated
Back... not that it matters. Tanglewood was fun; seeing the whole family again (including my wayward cousin) was even more so. The cousin collective all drove out to an expensive, crowded distraction. Everyone was suitably impressed with my vehicle. It was somewhat scary that the wrx made an aggressive speeder out of my mom. But it was unbelievable to open it up on mountain roads. And there is a sick fun to passing someone on a two lane curvy road by catching up with them and then hitting turbo.

In ultimate news... Fiesty won a game! Fiesty has also challenged the winner of the All-Rookie game on Thursday. I don't think I qualify for the first game, although by the technical rules, I could be a rookie. But we do get to play, so that should be interesting. I did not make it in time back on Sunday to play in our games, and it looks like our next game is going to be rescheduled (and probably unlikely to intersect with when I am in PIT).

Basically have moved into the new apartment. Still a lot of unpacking. And getting used to a significantly longer and less convenient bus ride. But the place is just so happy.

And now back to work for me -- I managed to accomplish very little in the previous 10 work hours. And I have a meeting at 10am about my "progress". Woohoo!

So you are going to be environmentally friendly and not drive to work every day like Bucy? You should get really hardc0re and bike to work like me. Of course you are probably further away than I am.

Survive the meeting?

If it wasn't bucy, and everything, I would almost think a carpool would work. I am actively considering getting a bike -- I am 3 miles from campus, but it is relatively flat. I haven't owned a bike in years...

Meeting survived. Nice to have a brilliant gradstudent to work with to cover for us both. And I get cool messages like "Don't worry. I got some plan.".

And her name is Fang Fang! Which is like the name of a really mean panda bear, or something.

She doesn't come close to Dong Wang (dongw@cs.cmu.edu) in the competition for most unfortunate foreign name.

Yeah, Bucy kind of schedules his day such that carpooling would be non-optimal.

You're much closer than I thought. I am about 2.76 miles to work, though maybe a little hillier and windier than Pittsburgh.

Cute :-)

Hey, you should either drive to campus, or get the parking pass and give it to me!

I have applied for a West Campus permit (ie, around Roboclub). When I don't use it, I'd be happy to have you use it -- I wonder if I could just stick you on as a second car? I hope not to commute daily, but it would certainly be convenient -- especially if I scale back my "on campus" hours and come in for meetings.

Makes sense to get a parking permit, though. I get it as a reduction in pay (pre-tax) which makes it a whole lot more palatable. And I believe that, despite this as year zero, I'm still much higher priority than you.

Yes, the ordering is something like faculty, staff, grad, commuting undergrad, on campus undergrad.

Maybe I should just FAB a permit based on the careful examination of yours.
